Urban Decay: Moondust Palette Review and Swatch

I love Urban Decay eyeshadows and I have been a faithful buyer of almost every palette that has ever come out. They are always so pigmented and look really nice. This summer I decided to buy the new Moondust palette ($49) and I was pretty excited to try these glittery colours.

The palette is true to its name and gives off a deep-space intergalactic chic vibe. The cover of the palette also looks very unique and futuristic which I love.

Now on to the actual colours….I don’t like them. Oops.

Unfortunately they do not give off a very finished looked when applied. It honestly looks like cheap glitter eyeshadow that I can buy in a drug store. Although the shadows appear bright in the container, they are actually really dull. It is also not pigmented so I have to apply the shadow multiple times to get my desired look. There is also a lot of fall out so after you apply this eyeshadow you will end up with 10 tonnes of glitter on your face.

Maybe its because I’m dark-skinned or its just not that good. I’m just disappointed in the quality of these shadows. For $49 I would expect to have a large variety of colours (which it’s lacking) and high quality shadows (which it’s also lacking). About 3 of the shadows just appear grey. Bleh!

Sadly I’m going to pass this eyeshadow down to my mother. I don’t think it’s worth the buy.

What do you think about this palette? Do you hate it or love it?

  1. Hmm…maybe the ingredients caused the “grey” look vs. your beautiful skin color. Normally, those colors look amazing on all variations of skin tones, so I am going to go with the “what’s in the ingredient’s list” question. Something about this palette didn’t sit well with me when I first saw it. Glad I passed on it. Glad that you wrote an informative review and provided the skin swatches!
